HSC Clinic offers ‘At Home Tooth Whitening’ Treatment which results in a significant lightening of the teeth by several shades, with long term results to be expected.

What is At Home Tooth Whitening?
"At home" bleaching is a procedure to "lighten or brighten" the enamel of the teeth. It has been proven safe in clinical studies over a period of many years. A gum shield will need to be worn normally over night, containing bleaching gels.

An initial consultation is necessary to assess your suitability for this treatment. At the first appointment impressions are taken of your teeth and these are sent away so special soft acrylic trays can be made to exactly fit over your teeth.

The trays take roughly one week to construct and on the second appointment they are then check for an accurate fit. You will then be given the active bleaching material which is contained in syringes in the form of a translucent gel and full instructions are given in how to load the trays with the gel.

How long will it last?
The duration of your results will largely depend on the patient. Long term results can be expected and maintained by practicing good oral hygiene and making sure you brush your teeth after consuming staining foods and beverages. Results can last for years but you may need top ups every now and again, especially if you often consume substances like coffee, tobacco and red wine. You are able to use the same trays so you just need to purchase some more bleaching gels.
