Plexr® is a non-surgical treatment that can achieve as good a result as surgery, but without the need for cutting and stitching. It’s an effective alternative to blepharoplasty (eyelid correction), removal of skin lesions and reduction of lines and wrinkles.

Plexr® causes sublimation, the process of turning a solid into gas, stimulating instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres. This technology does not use a scalpel or laser to remove excess skin and avoids many of the risks associated with traditional treatments, providing quick and easy recovery. The treatment is performed without cutting or the use of stitches. It will leave a series of dots on the treated area, which will form tiny crusts and will fall off over the next 1-2 weeks.

Plexr® can be used to remove skin lesions, excess skin and reduce lines and wrinkles by tissue sublimation without cutting. It can be used for the following:

Non-surgical blepharoplasty (eyelid correction)
Skin lesions such as fibromas, warts verrucae, papillomas and xanthelasma
Scarring, including acne scars, keloid scars, stretch marks and post-surgical scars

Treatment may take 20-60 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated. Additional time is also required for the application of anaesthetic in order to minimise discomfort during the procedure.

Plexr® is a very safe treatment. It has full European CE approval and has been used worldwide for several years, with no significant adverse events. Only Doctors and Nurse Prescribers who have received specialist training are authorised to perform treatments with Plexr®.

Local anaesthetic cream or injections may be used to numb the area prior to treatment in order to minimise discomfort. There may be mild discomfort, tingling or a burning sensation afterwards.

After Plexr® treatment, it is normal to experience redness, swelling and mild tenderness in the treated area for up to 3 days. Swelling can be quite pronounced around the eye area and may last 3-7 days.

Crusting will form over the treated area and it is important to keep the area clean, dry and protected with a broad-spectrum sunscreen. You will be given instructions and aftercare to aid with healing.

Any direct sources of heat must be avoided for 4 weeks or until the skin tone has returned to normal colour.

Rare side-effects include infection, scarring and temporary changes in skin pigmentation. The likelihood of these side-effects is minimised by adherence to the aftercare given at the time of treatment.

Most people see a noticeable result after the first treatment and results will continue to improve over the next 4 weeks. A reduction in skin folds and creases will appear immediately. The final results depend on the severity of skin laxity and condition, or the size of lesion. Some patients may require more than one treatment, and this is subject to your personal expectation.

The effect of the treatment is subject to the number of treatments you have, your lifestyle and your ageing process. It typically lasts for the same amount of time as traditional surgery, such as blepharoplasty. You will still age as you would normally, and your skin will continue to relax as part of the ageing process over time.

The number of treatments will vary according to the desired degree of correction and the individual’s physiological response to the treatment. Some patients may require further treatment to achieve optimal results. Subsequent sessions should not take place for 6 weeks or until after the skin has fully healed.
